About Isabelle

You’re looking for a doula who values openness and communication, and who supports education, autonomy, and sacred experience of birth.

I’d love to support you through your childbearing journey!

Hello — I’m Isabelle!

I’m a certified VBAC doula and birth assistant who serves women in Summit, Wasatch, Salt Lake, and Utah Counties.

I offer physical, emotional, informational, and spiritual support before, during, and after birth. The childbearing journey is my passion, and I love supporting growing families.

I took my first doula training through DONA (Doulas of North America) in February of 2022. I then continued my education with an advanced doula training with Melissa Chappell to learn more advanced comfort measures and techniques. After that training, I decided to take my education a step further and completed the VBAC certification through the VBAC link. I am passionate about birth, and am currently studying to become a midwife.

My Philosophy

I believe that the best place to give birth is a place where you feel the most safe.

My role as a doula is to help my clients move into the seat of the parent, making their own decisions based on their intuition and knowledge. I help my client’s have autonomy in their care by providing reliable informational resources for them to make their decisions from.  I am a strong advocate for facilitating physiological birth and evidence based practice.

I believe that birth is a sacred event, and that in labor and birth a woman is at her most divine and most vulnerable.

As a doula I hold space for her, and protect that space so that she can stay focused and in her element. I provide a grounding and calming energy to my clients, helping them feel safe and secure in whatever turns happen in their birth experience.

A Bit More About Me…

I was raised on a farm, and I’m the oldest of seven children, so growing up I was always around birth and babies. My love for life and families grew when I studied Marriage, Family, and Human Relations at BYU-Idaho. I’ve always known that I wanted to work with families, and becoming a doula has been a way for me to tap into my desire to help families have autonomy and sacredness in their birth experiences. My work as a doula has forged the way for me to become a midwife, and I’m currently in my primary phase as a midwifery student. I’m a trained birth assistant, an advanced birth doula, and a certified VBAC doula.

  • I love the outdoors! I’m an avid snowboarder. In the off-season I enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing. I love learning new things and picking up new hobbies, right now I’m learning how to mountain bike.

  • I grew up on a farm, and raising rabbits was my niche. I still live on a small hobby farm in Oakley UT, with chickens, cows, and rabbits. I also have two dogs, a 13-year-old hound dog named Phillip, and a 4-month-old dachshund puppy named Boogie.

  • I’m an Aries and my Myers-Briggs personality type is INFJ.

  • I am a ballroom dancer, and danced on a competitive team for years. Although I don’t compete anymore, I still enjoy going to country swing clubs and salsa dancing.

  • I love music of all kinds, and I never say no to a live concert!

“I will forever be grateful for the presence of Isabelle during my labor and delivery experience. I truly feel as though she is one of my earth angels. Leading up to delivery she helped me define what it was I wanted from my birth experience and I got exactly that. She also made sure to help my husband before I went into labor teaching him different techniques with rebozo as well as counter pressure. I had planned and prepared to deliver at a birth center but due to baby’s positioning and heart rate we had to do a very last minute transfer to the hospital (I was already pushing as we were transferring). Thanks to Isabelle and the rest of my birth team what could have been an extremely stressful and scary situation became a huge part of what I loved most about my delivery. As we were packing up to head to the hospital Isabelle reassured me that she had all of my birth preferences and birth plan ready to go to relay to the hospital staff and she’d be with me every step of the way. My husband had to drop me off at the entrance of the hospital and Isabelle took me upstairs and inside to my room literally holding me up as I was having contractions and pushing.

During my labor it was like she could sense what I needed right when I needed it , whether it was counter pressure, words of encouragement, finding an oil for me to smell or all of them at once. I truly could not have been more happy with having Isabelle as my doula. She made it so my one and only focus was connecting with my baby and birthing him safely and took care of literally everything else. What a blessing.”
